Terms of service

The rules of the road.

Last updated 6 October 2026

These terms apply when you use the BRIDGE app or website. By creating an account you agree to them.

1. What BRIDGE is

BRIDGE is a platform that connects riders with independent, verified drivers. It is launching first on the Badagry–Lagos corridor. Drivers are not BRIDGE employees; they provide the trip, and BRIDGE provides the app, pricing, payments, support and safety tools.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and use your own phone number. Riders under 18 may travel only with an adult account holder in the car.
  • Keep your one-time codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time (see how).

3. Fares

  • Every fare comes from BRIDGE’s published fare formula: a base fare plus distance and time, with a capped increase at busy times. The current values are shown in the app.
  • Locked price: the fare shown when you book is the fare you pay, plus only the items below when they apply.
  • Waiting: the first 15 minutes after your driver arrives are free; after that a per-minute waiting fee applies, paid to the driver.
  • Heavy traffic: if traffic makes the trip much longer than estimated, extra minutes may be added, capped at 15% of the fare. Detours by the driver are never charged.
  • Booking fee: ₦200 per Ride and a smaller fee per Share seat, shown in your quote.
  • Cancelling: free. Please cancel as early as you can, so your driver isn’t kept waiting.
  • BRIDGE Share seats are booked on set departures. A rider who isn’t there when the car departs is marked a no-show and the seat is charged.

4. Paying

Pay by cash to the driver or by bank transfer through Paystack at the end of the trip. Report any charge you think is wrong through the app within 7 days and we’ll review it, including a refund where it’s due.

5. For drivers

  • You must pass verification (ID, licence, vehicle papers, photos) before your first trip and keep your documents current.
  • BRIDGE charges a commission (currently 10%) on your first 35 trips each week, as shown in the app. Every trip after that in the same week is commission-free. A Share departure counts as one trip. Founding drivers may pay no commission for an introductory period.
  • Rush-hour increases and waiting fees go to you in full.
  • For cash trips, BRIDGE’s share is taken from your prepaid wallet; you may need to top it up to go online. Transfer earnings are paid out to your verified bank account.
  • Drive safely, lawfully and respectfully. Serious or repeated complaints are handled through BRIDGE’s published incident process — reviewed with the driver’s union where the driver is a member — which can include suspension.

6. For riders

  • Be at the pickup on time, treat drivers and their cars with respect, and wear a seatbelt.
  • Riders who damage a vehicle or behave abusively may lose access to BRIDGE.

7. Safety

In an emergency call 112. The app’s SOS button alerts the BRIDGE team with your location. Ratings from both sides help us act on problems; low-rated accounts are reviewed.

8. Offers

Promotions such as the Founding Rider offer (₦500 off your first ride) apply once per person, can’t be exchanged for cash, and may end at any time.

9. Liability

BRIDGE works to keep the service available and safe but can’t guarantee a driver will always be available. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer protection law.

10. Changes and contact

We’ll give notice in the app before material changes take effect. Questions: hello@bridgemobility.ng. See also our privacy policy.
